A Good Day to Die

7:21 AM. An amazing rainbow arching over the old Redwood Pole on the corner of Laurel and Harrison.
1:12 PM The old Redwood Pole loaded onto an AT&T truck despite protests by various neighbors.
I am shown the butt of the pole. "See. It was ready to fall over".

I must admit that is true but...,

"Couldn't it have been re-planted a little deeper?"

"No, then it wouldn't be tall enough to match the rest of the poles."

Well, darn. "Can it be saved?"

"Oh yes. It will be sent to the Telephone Museum in Sacramento."

Yeah, right!
