The Daily Grind

Do you suppose this Raven is announcing the beginning of the Daily Grind?

The pink dotted line is the center line for the asphalt grinding and removal starting today. Alder and Redwood Streets will be first.

The machine to do the job arrived this morning.

Meanwhile the hustle is on to get the sidewalks and curbs completed on Laurel Street.

There were some problem areas that slowed the process but it is coming together now.

Local Wandering

I see our local dealership is hanging in there.

This caught my eye, of course!

And I couldn't pass this without a shot. What a lot of work prepping an old Victorian for paint!

This guy was singing his heart out! I had the wrong camera or I would have U-tubed him!

Oh no! It looks like a rip-off. The wooden gnome is missing! I know I have a photo of him on one of my post from a year or two ago. It is times like this I wish I had taken the time to add "Labels".

Don't forget... First Friday tonight! Art Walk. Shops open late!

A Fort Bragg Oddity

Now, if he can learn to park he will be top dog!

Reminds me of when I was driving my ninty three year old mother-in-law to her hair dresser and one of these jacked up pick-ups drove by. She asked how come that truck was so tall. I said, "It's because the driver has tiny balls". A moment of silence and then she said,

"I hope it helps."

Blah!

The Marine Layer is in. The Marine Layer has been in since I arrived. The Marine Layer has been in since before I arrived!

Days like this are an uphill battle!

:-)

Now then.

I see the joys and frustrations of the downtown street and sidewalk re-do is still in progress.

The intersection of Laurel and McPherson is going to require a lot of material removal to get to the new grade.

I couldn't pass this up. Usually I see shoes hanging from the wires. These were just laying in the street!

I walked pass the Internet hot spot in the alley by Headlands Coffeehouse and worked up the courage to ask if I could take a photo for my 100 Strangers project. They, surprisingly (to me), said, "sure". So I ripped off this quick shot, thanked them and departed. No real interaction happened but I am sure it was mostly because of me and my judgemental attitude. I was the one with a barrier raised. Not them. Thanks Merino, Kmeron and Kelly. I have a lot to learn.

In Transit

I hand off Granny to her daughter and hit the road! :-)

Southbound Interstate 5 aims for Mt. Rainier for a while.

After eight hours of pounding down the Interstate I arrive at my secret camping spot in Southern Oregon.

Perfect!

In the morning I go for a hike out the new botanical trail.

My lame attempt at impersonating Kokopelli!

What a nice change of pace.

Pretty country for a camp out but it soon gets better...

YES!!
