This isn't someone trying to hitch hike out of town, No. This is what is left of one of the trees planted along Main Street years ago.
And here is one of the trees planted a while ago at the corner of Main and Laurel. It is slowly sawing itself in half due to the prevaling north wind and lack of maintenance.
Like this..., and the City is planning on planting new trees along the Franklin Street Redevelopment? Why bother?
And while I'm grumping, this isn't the correct time (I took this photo at 7:39 AM). Yet this is our prominet clock in Downtown Fort Bragg. It has been "out of whack" for so long that a local blogger and photographer has named her photo blog after it. http://sixfourteen.us/
As for this wonderful "public clock" on Franklin Street, it isn't any help either. I don't recall ever seeing it operating. No wonder everyone is late!
Not only are there eight city limit signs around Fort Bragg there are also these welcoming signs. This one is located beside HWY One at the south end of town as you approach the Noyo Bridge.
And this one is located at the north end of town for those folks arriving from Leggett via HWY One.By the way, I did a search for Leggett, CA in Wikipedia and discovered there is no page titled "Leggett, CA"!!
Pretty rare in this day and age.

of the biggest Tulip Tree I have ever seen. It seems to me a bit early for blooming but...

Cool and clear this morning. I'm walking along and what to my wandering eyes did appear? Two planets, Venus and Jupiter and our waning moon!! I had read about these planets two days ago on one of my favorite websites Astronomy Photo of the Day and now, by golly, there they are!!
I made a mad dash between rain squalls to bag the last Fort Bragg city limit sign and here it is. This is for the folks entering Fort Bragg from the north.
Heading home I decided I better check Airport Road and sure enough, a seventh one!! A total of seven Fort Bragg city limit signs. I think I have visited and photographed all of them now.

Along the way I captured another shopping cart for my photographic collection and then it poured!! Spring weather has arrive early this year.
I headed north this morning in search of what I think will be my sixth and final city limit sign. Walking across the east side of the Pudding Creek Highway One bridge I notice a very active spill-way at the Pudding Creek dam. All that rain yesterday is now heading to the sea.
It started to rain so I gave up my hunt for the city limit sign. Returning over the west side of the Pudding Creek Highway One bridge I saw incoming waves from the Pacific traveling up Pudding Creek!! I had never noticed this before but then it takes the perfect timing of a lot of rain run-off, a high tide and large seas to make it happen.
